Whether one’s working on a side hustle, promoting a passion project or starting a new business, they can now build an online presence with Google domains, now out of beta.
Google launched Google Domains, in beta, in 2015, to be the “easiest place to find, buy and manage a domain.” Since the beta version, “millions of customers have trusted Google with their online home and have added more tools and features to bring ease-of-use, reliability and value to finding and using a domain name,” according to the company.
Google is now moving the service out of beta and into general availability in 26 countries. As it moves out of beta from now until April 15th, the company is offering new and returning users 20% off a single domain registration or transfer into Google domains using the code DOMAIN20.

Users can find a name that’s right for their business and have access to Google tools to help spread the brand further. It also includes a free business profile and custom email. Users also get collaboration tools with Workspace. They can also create professional looking websites and/or online stores with partners, such as Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, Weebly and Bluehost. It can also integrate with Google Ads and Search Console, so users can reach customers across the web and track where visitors are coming from.
Google says it also gives the reliability of a high performance DNS, meaning the domain is easy to access regardless of where a visitors is located; it’s the same infrastructure used by Google, according the company. Google also offers around the clock customer support.
Privacy and security features include two step verification and one click DNSSEC, bringing an added layer of security to the account at no additional cost.
