Hacker Claims Telecom Company Hired Him to Create Botnet against Competition

After being arrested at Luton airport in February, a hacker that hijacked 900,000 routers, affecting 1.25 million Deutsche Telekom customers, says he was hired by the company’s competition.

To be fair, the hacker claims he went above and beyond the company’s request. He claims to have taken $10,000 in order to create a botnet with which to knock out a competing business via a further attack. The company never specifically asked him to hack Deutsche Telekom.

The hacker is currently being held by officials.
