Hacker Steals $7 Million of Ethereum in 3 Minutes
After Israeli blockchain technology startup project for the trading of Ether, CoinDash, launched an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), allowing investors to pay with Ethereum and send funds to token sale’s smart contact address, an unknown hacker pounced and stole $7 million worth of the currency.
The hacker was able to trick investors into sending 43438.455 Ether to the wrong address by hacking CoinDash’s website and changing the Ethereum address investors should send their investments to. The redirected cryptocurrencies were sent to the hacker’s wallet instead.
At this point the assailant is unknown, and CoinDash is still under attack.
