Cybersecurity software provider Check Point Software Technologies has partnered with more than 200 training partners to launch Check Point Mind, a knowledge and training portal, a new cybersecurity training solution designed to address the global cybersecurity skills gap.
The cybersecurity training offering comes after an intense two years for IT and cybersecurity professionals who were dealt a one-two punch of trying to scale up their remote work technologies while responding to an increasing amount of cyberthreats that sought to exploit that remote workforce.
According to Check Point, the offering incudes programs for C-level executives, security experts, penetration testers, as well as cybersecurity education programs and interactive, gamified challenges designed to teach users about security in an engaging way. Users can sign up for free, the company says.
Check Point lists several organizations as partners on this initiative, including some IT and cybersecurity certification organizations like ISACA, (ISC)2 and Infosec.
The list of partners also includes New York University, specifically the university’s Tandon School of Engineering.
In a statement, Nasir Memon, the university’s vice dean for academics and student affairs, the head of Tadon Online and a computer science professor, said a practical, applied learning approach to cybersecurity education is critical.
“Check Point badge provides hands-on skills in network security, cloud security, endpoint & mobile security and is a key component of NYU Cyber Fellows, our elite online Cybersecurity Master’s Degree,” Memon said.
The programs include:
- CISO Academy: a global education program for C-Level executives to help master all types of cybersecurity practices and maximize security while learning to balance the handling of tactical issues with strategic leadership responsibilities.
- HackingPoint: a global education program for security experts to help master all types of Pen Testing techniques and cybersecurity practices. Students completing HackingPoint courses will understand how to better protect the corporate network sand resources.
- SecureAcademy: cybersecurity education in partnership with the world’s leading higher learning institutions.
- CyberPark: a collection of partnerships and gamified challenges that enable users to learn about security challenges and train using Check Point solutions in an interactive and fun way.
“With the continued increase in cyber-attacks and more sophisticated cyber threats, Check Point Software, as an enabler of cybersecurity, is committed to making cybersecurity education and knowledge accessible,” said Liat Doron, the company’s vice president of learning and training, in a statement. “Through Check Point Mind, we aim to equip anyone from students to c-level executives with cybersecurity knowledge and skills to help meet the global demand for more cybersecurity professionals.”
