In order to better support its distance learning program, Charles Sturt University (CSU) invested in Pexip Infinity.
The solution will enable students and instructors to communicate face-to-face within virtual meeting rooms (VMRs) to participate in classroom discussion, content sharing and team-based collaboration.
Pexip Infinity will power more than 25,000 VMRs and virtual auditoriums, and will be implemented in multiple data centers that are managed by two administrators from a single location.
According to a statement by Pexip, the solution will also “remove any accessibility obstacles,” and is easy enough for instructors and students to use without extensive IT knowledge.
CSU expects to have students actively using Infinity in a year.
“By deploying Pexip Infinity, we’ve taken a definitive step in ensuring that our online learning remains empowering and simple to use while guaranteeing that it can be easily expanded to meet any of our future requirements,” said Philip Roy, executive director of IT at CSU, in a previous statement. “By giving our distance learning students their own personal VMRs, we’re taking away some of the fear and mystery of not being able to physically attend classes on campus.”
