Former Cleveland Clinic CEO, Toby Cosgrove, MD, will serve as executive chair and strategic advisor

The council is an advisory board composed of healthcare’s foremost clinical, digital and operational leaders, with the goal of constructing a new vision for healthcare rooted in intelligent automation. The group will leverage its collective expertise to collaboratively brainstorm and draw up the blueprints for a simpler, more engaging healthcare ecosystem.

Toby Cosgrove, MD and former CEO of Cleveland Clinic, will also serve as executive chair and strategic advisor to Notable. Dr. Cosgrove will lend his clinical and business expertise to guide product strategy to expand the value of the Notable platform as a strategic technology capability.

The Council gathered last week in an inaugural meeting to discuss how intelligent automation can help health systems to eliminate their call centers. Members offered insights and perspectives on what the patient experience could look like if the call center were eliminated entirely. By replacing manual processes with intelligently automated ones, health systems can improve patient experiences while simultaneously reducing administrative costs and combatting physician burnout. Key takeaways from the first meeting include five actions health system leaders can take to eliminate the need for the call center, which can be accelerated through the application of intelligent automation:
- Identify and define access points to the health system.
- Gather data on productivity, experience, and waste, to evaluate where patients are entering the system and how effectively their needs are being met.
- Design digital solutions for complexity and resiliency.
- Ensure that quality and efficiency are maintained for patients and staff.
- Collaborate and establish team buy-in.
