Notable Announces Digital Transformation Council to Fundamentally Reshape Healthcare Experiences Through Intelligent Automation

December 17, 2021 TechDecisions Staff

Former Cleveland Clinic CEO, Toby Cosgrove, MD, will serve as executive chair and strategic advisor

SAN MATEO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Notable, the leading intelligent automation company for healthcare, today announced the formation of the Notable Digital Transformation Council. The council is an advisory board composed of healthcare’s foremost clinical, digital and operational leaders, with the goal of constructing a new vision for healthcare rooted in intelligent automation. The group will leverage its collective expertise to collaboratively brainstorm and draw up the blueprints for a simpler, more engaging healthcare ecosystem.

Esteemed members of the Council include:

– Jim Albin, Chief Information Officer at Thedacare

– Ed Kopetsky, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Stanford Children’s Health

– Manish Naik, MD and Chief Medical Information Officer at Austin Regional Clinic

– Danielle Scheurer, MD, MSCR and Chief Quality Officer at the Medical University of South Carolina

– Ryan Smith, Chief Information Officer at Intermountain Healthcare

– Tom Bowen Wright, Vice President of Digital Health at Baylor Scott & White Health

Toby Cosgrove, MD and former CEO of Cleveland Clinic, will also serve as executive chair and strategic advisor to Notable. Dr. Cosgrove will lend his clinical and business expertise to guide product strategy to expand the value of the Notable platform as a strategic technology capability.

“Technology has the power to enable a more connected patient-provider relationship, but it can also detract from it,” said Toby Cosgove, MD, former CEO of Cleveland Clinic. “I firmly believe intelligent automation is the future of healthcare, and the best technology capability to get the industry out of its capacity crisis and into the next generation of digital transformation.”

The Council gathered last week in an inaugural meeting to discuss how intelligent automation can help health systems to eliminate their call centers. Members offered insights and perspectives on what the patient experience could look like if the call center were eliminated entirely. By replacing manual processes with intelligently automated ones, health systems can improve patient experiences while simultaneously reducing administrative costs and combatting physician burnout. Key takeaways from the first meeting include five actions health system leaders can take to eliminate the need for the call center, which can be accelerated through the application of intelligent automation:

  1. Identify and define access points to the health system.
  2. Gather data on productivity, experience, and waste, to evaluate where patients are entering the system and how effectively their needs are being met.
  3. Design digital solutions for complexity and resiliency.
  4. Ensure that quality and efficiency are maintained for patients and staff.
  5. Collaborate and establish team buy-in.

“The status quo has been to build or buy point solutions for every touch point across the care continuum, which only creates more work and duplicative workflows,” said Pranay Kapadia, co-founder and CEO of Notable. “Notable serves as the connecting thread throughout the patient journey, and allows staff to focus on complex thinking, problem solving and patient care, instead of repetitive work. This Council has the potential to expand our vision to redefine what is possible, and develop creative solutions that transform the impossible into reality.”

The Notable Digital Transformation Council will meet quarterly to discuss issues pertaining to opportunities for automation within healthcare, which Notable will compile and share with its customer community on a recurring basis.
