Motorola Certifies Six Additional Android Devices with ioXt Alliance

August 23, 2021 TechDecisions Staff

Certification through the ioXt Alliance’s global security standards validates Motorola’s dedication to product security, product upgradability and consumer transparency

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The ioXt Alliance, the global standard for IoT security, today announced that Motorola certified six additional Android devices through the ioXt Certification Program, with more devices to be added later in the year, as part of its continuous efforts to prioritize security and privacy.

With an emphasis on security, upgradability and transparency, the ioXt Alliance certified Motorola’s devices against its eight pledge principles that include clear guidelines for quantifying the highest level of security needed for each device. As each device met or exceeded the testing requirements, they received the ioXt SmartCert label.

The Motorola suite of Android devices that are now certified with the ioXt Alliance include:

  • motorola one 5g UW Ace
  • motorola edge 20
  • motorola edge 20 pro
  • motorola edge 20 lite
  • moto g(60)s
  • motorola edge 20 fusion

“We applaud Motorola for taking this proactive step to keep its devices secure by certifying an array of its smartphones with our industry-backed standards,” said Brad Ree, CTO of the ioXt Alliance. “Motorola has always built its devices with the consumers’ safety in mind and this certification further validates the manufacturer’s commitment to security, privacy and transparency, providing an enhanced peace of mind and confidence to end-users.”
