FreeWire’s Boost Charger can connect to existing urban grids, making charging far more accessible to areas with higher population density. Boost Chargers have been installed in remote tourist locations like Homer, Alaska, and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, bringing ultrafast EV charging to edge of the grid locations where it was not previously possible. The ability to accelerate EV adoption while accounting for the grid’s limitations may very well be the missing link in the energy transition to zero-emission EVs.
As FreeWire’s technology continues to stand out from the crowd, investors have taken note. Last week, FreeWire raised an additional $125 million in new capital from investors including asset manager BlackRock Inc.
