IT pros can now validate their administration skills of working in hybrid environments with Microsoft’s new Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certificate.
Microsoft recognizes that hybrid work is a new workplace disruptor since the pandemic that has now become the reality for many organizations. The Windows Server Hybrid Administrator certification is meant to help those that are building new cloud-native applications, while still supporting current on-premises applications.

IT pros who have subject matter expertise configuring and managing Windows Server on-premises, hybrid, and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform workloads, and extensive experience working with the Windows Server operating system are encouraged to attain the certificate.
According to Microsoft’s blog post, typical responsibilities for administrators in this role include:
- Integrating Windows Server environments with Azure services and managing Windows Server in on-premises networks.
- Managing Windows Server IaaS workloads in Azure, in addition to migrating and deploying workloads to Azure.
- Collaborating with Azure administrators, enterprise architects, Microsoft 365 administrators, and network engineers.
- Implementing and managing on-premises and hybrid solutions, such as identity, management, compute, networking, and storage.
Completion of two exams: Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure and Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services are required. The exams are expected to be released in early December 2021.
