NBA 2K
The NBA franchise has almost a cult following from basketball fans, for good reason. Controls are intuitive, games are quick, and athletes are customized to the point that they are almost indistinguishable from real life in terms of movement and shot technique. There is also a more casual blacktop mode that lets you assemble teams of five from any era and play with no fouls or shot clock out on the playground.
