Also voted Most Innovative Product of 2015 for the Grand Prize!

Chief — ConnexSys Video Wall Mounting System

The ConnexSys Video Wall Mounting System was designed to solve common problems faced by installers when mounting video walls – speed of install, ease of alignment, access for serviceability and rigidity to maintain adjustments.

The ConnexSys story started several years ago. Installers were having trouble with large video wall installations. Since no wall is perfectly straight, small imperfections get multiplied over space, and most mounts simply don’t adjust enough to compensate. A new solution was needed.

The system hangs from strut channel, which allows the ability to level an entire row once. Significant depth adjustment allows installers to set the mount between 4” and 7.4” from the wall for recessed applications and to accommodate imperfections in the wall. Each mount is tested to accommodate 150 lbs.

Category: Ease of Customization

Biamp Systems — Biamp Systems Tesira

There was a time when networked media systems required special cabling and thousands of man-hours to configure and maintain. Times have changed for the better.

Biamp Systems’ Tesira is the first scalable networked media system using Audio Video Bridging (AVB). Now, a complete audio system can be easily configured and managed from a single on-site or remote location.

Tesira is also the only networked media system that uses design partitions, making it easy to modify and control audio throughout an installation whether in a single building or across a campus.

Category: Interoperability

Kramer Electronics — VIA Collage

The VIA Collage is Kramer’s flagship wireless collaboration hub. It allows users to instantly connect wirelessly from a remote location and collaborate effortlessly and effectively.

With a common BYOD platform that works across all devices (Apple, Windows, Android, etc.), the VIA Collage allows up to six user screens to be dynamically displayed on a single main display and up to 12 screens simultaneously on two displays.

Users can stream full motion 1080p HD video, and the VIA Collage also supports third−party applications such as Skype, WebEx, Go To Meeting and Lync for video conferencing and Word, Excel and others for productivity.

Category: New Revenue Potential

BrightSign — 4K Digital Signage Media Player

BrightSign 4K is the industry’s first commercial-grade, solid-state line of digital signage media players to deliver true 4K, H.265 encoded video via HDMI 2.0 for playback at 60 fps.

BrightSign’s 4K players incorporate all of the features of the industry’s best-selling solid-state digital signage platform, including HTML5 content support, video wall synchronization, BrightAuthor and BrightSign Network support.

Category: Recurring Revenue Potential

Smartvue Corporation — S12 Cloud Video Surveillance Solution

Smartvue’s S12 software leverages dynamic cloud technology to provide a new type of surveillance network and overcome security challenges that organizations face today.

Providing a remote video surveillance management system enables businesses to develop a new recurring revenue stream by integrating cloud services into their existing product line, therefore streamlining processes and allowing them to take on more business than ever before.

Since Smartvue S12 is cloud-based, users can log in on any device with an unlimited number of users from anywhere in the world, without the hassle of maintaining software. The S12 is flexible in the amount of storage, so companies can easily scale their system as it grows.

Additionally, the new S12 software features an innovative service called Camera to Cloud. This means that video footage goes straight from a camera to the cloud without the need for extra servers and components. This component is especially appealing to integrators because they’ll have the ability to sell for projected growth because these cameras are so easy to install.

Category: Retrofit Friendly Solution

Crestron — DM 4K

Today’s video landscape is all about 4K and streaming, and Crestron won’t make you choose between the two.

DM 3.0, the latest generation of Crestron’s DigitalMedia, boasts a modular, scalable architecture that enables integrators to upgrade or reconfigure customers’ systems to handle any mix of analog, 2K, 4K, and streaming at any time without changing the matrix or reprogramming the system. Users can distribute point-to-point, uncompressed HD video over copper or fiber and stream, all in the same matrix frame.

The DM 3.0 line includes a full set of standard-setting 4K products: switchers, transmitters, receivers, extenders, wall plates, input and output cards, DM Ultra Cable, and the world’s first and only 4K scaler, which can convert any resolution and frame rate to any other resolution and frame rate, up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hz.

The entries are closed, the votes are in and as of tonight NSCA has officially announced the winners of its Excellence in Product Innovation Awards at the Business and Leadership Conference Welcome Dinner.

NSCA hosted the awards in conjunction with CI in the search for new and innovative technologies that have a profound effect on systems integrators.

A panel of judges considered the scalability, versatility, deployment cost, ease of use, ROI, ADA compliance and energy efficiency of the products, with a keen eye on how these specific products have made a difference in the field.

“This is a very different type of recognition for manufacturers,” says NSCA Executive Director Chuck Wilson. “Our focus is to recognize manufacturers that are totally committed to our channel, and have innovative products specifically designed for system integrators to help them generate more revenue, earn more profit, reach new customers, and open new markets.”

Wilson and NSCA hope the award program works to “raise the bar” of innovation for future products and solutions.

There is one winner in each of the six categories — installer-friendly; ease of customization; interoperability; new revenue potential; recurring revenue potential; retrofit-friendly — with one overall grand prize winner.

And the Excellence in Product Innovation winners are:

  • Chief’s ConnexSys Video Wall Mounting System – Most Installer-Friendly
  • Biamp Systems’ Tesira – Ease of Customization
  • Kramer Electronics’ VIA Collage
  • BrightSign’s 4K Digital Signage Mideo Player – Most New Revenue Potential
  • Smartvue’s S12 Cloud Video Surveillance Solution – Most Recurring Revenue Potential
  • Crestron’s DM 4K – Most Retrofit-Friendly

While the Most Innovative Product Grand Prize Winner is Chief with the ConnexSys Video Wall Mounting System.
