InfoComm is about technology, integration, business, education, and, possibly above everything else, creativity. InfoComm 2018 this year at Las Vegas showed trade-show-floors worth of all of this, and attendees looking for the incredible experience that InfoComm delivers were not disappointed.
Each year our editorial staff, along with that of our sister site Commercial Integrator, visits InfoComm and meets with as many companies as we possibly can to learn about what is new and coming in the AV industry. Attendees – including end users, manufacturers, integrators, and more – were likely wowed by the giant digital signage displays. They probably stopped by manufacturer booths to learn about boxes that power displays and other systems, to learn the newest breakthroughs in AV-over-IP products. I’m sure they stopped by audio booths to check out microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and more.
One thing that you might end up overlooking is something that doesn’t seem that technological (until the types of companies with booths at InfoComm start making them) – furniture. That’s right, it’s 2018 and even your furniture can come complete with AV technology advancements woven right into the fabric or built directly into the wood of the desk top. Many even come connected to the internet!
You’re only ever going to have so much space in your office building. Companies have rented out additional floors, opened new locations, allowed employees to begin working from home, and still find themselves squeezing into the available spaces. Then they have to figure out how to squeeze displays, sound equipment, collaboration systems, computers and more into the same space along with their employees. AV furniture is a great way to maximize your area and account for the technological, aesthetic, and comfortability of your office space.
