Educational technology can help create interactive lessons that can speak to students the way traditional lessons may not be able to.

We live in a technology-based world. Every single aspect of our lives is related to technology. We watch online videos to exercise. We shop online. Thanks to the different devices we own, we stay connected with the world that surrounds us. We get news, we interact with other people, and we hunt for jobs online. Learning, as another important aspect of our lives, is also dependent on technology.

It doesn’t matter whether you teach in an actual classroom or you provide online lectures for students form all around the world. All teachers have a common goal: using technology to make their lessons interactive.

Lecturing is no longer the preferred form of instruction. Today’s generations of students, in particular, have no interest in absorbing information presented that way. They want the teachers to make more effort. They want to be part of discussions and projects; but they won’t initiate such action. The teacher is the one responsible to trigger engagement through interactive lessons and projects.

Interactive lessons are often perceived as fun. Still, they are very effective because they improve the student’s memory. When they take active participation in the learning process, they make an effort to understand the concepts. They contribute with the information they locate, so it’s easier for them to retain that information.

Eric Mazur, a professor at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, defines himself as a converted lecturer. Throughout his experience, he realized that “active learning, not passive [learning] makes it impossible to sleep through a class.

When the students are required to participate in the lecture, they have no other choice but to learn. Fortunately for us, technology makes interactive teaching easy and fun for everyone.

We’ll suggest 7 tips that help you create the interactive lessons your students can’t wait to get.

I couldn’t agree more when you mentioned that students today no longer prefer the traditional type of classroom teaching. They are now more into interactive teaching where they are able to participate more actively and become more engaged. Another advantage of this interactive approach to teaching is that students can also access the lecture at home while studying. It is definitely more convenient, practical, and fun. If I were a teacher, I would definitely consider using this type of approach. Thanks.
