Much like the digital signage market, the pro audio products category is always pretty massive at trade shows. Pro speakers and live sound products in general all had an impressive stage floor presence at InfoComm 2018.
A study from FutureSource last year says microphone sales will grow by more than 50 percent by 2021, while the pro speaker market will increase its revenues from $2.6 billion to $3.6 billion by 2021.
So, it’s clear that InfoComm 2018 was a ripe business environment for pro audio products. Our experience covering the floor as an editorial team was no different.
Most Unique Pro Speakers from InfoComm
One of the most common subcategories at the show, pro speakers offer integrators more than they ever have. Here are a few noteworthy speakers from the show (click on the company to see their slide):

New Packaged Pro Audio Services
Another trend in audio at InfoComm involved packaged solutions for the corporate and retail markets. Fusion Research’s new music servers and commercial streaming integrates with “all the popular automation companies’ solutions,” according to Fusion.
Meanwhile, the Premium Business Music Solutions from QSC offer background and foreground music reinforcement through a new line of multi-zone mixers, attractive wall controllers, configurable multi-channel amplifiers, SUB/SAT loudspeakers, as well as accompanying installation and management apps.
QSC cites a recent report from LP Information showing that business music systems can positively affect the customer experience (consumers spend up to 38 percent more time in retail spaces that use music as part of their overall customer experience) and drives sales in commercial installations (up to 32 percent increase).

The products we’ve gathered here are, by no means, the only interesting pro audio advancements from InfoComm 2018.
With that disclaimer in place, however, we feel these 12 in-ceiling microphones, condensers, and pro speakers go a long way toward defining the direction that pro audio will take following one of the most important trade events of the year.
