Curiosity Lab, a smart city and intelligent mobility laboratory near Atlanta, is partnering with the Taiwan-USA Industrial Cooperation Promotion Office to foster new smart technologies.
Through the partnership, Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners, Georgia will provide opportunities for Taiwanese companies to establish operations in the city and leverage the lab’s infrastructure and service to test new technologies, according to a press release.
Taiwan-USA Industrial Cooperation Promotion Office (TUSA) helps foster industrial cooperation, investment and bilateral business ties between partners in Taiwan and the U.S.
In a statement, TUSA said it saw Curiosity Lab’s smart city lab and 1.5-mile autonomous vehicle test track as a critical asset for startups and technology innovators in Taiwan.
Taiwanese companies will now have access to the incubator space in Peachtree Corners.
“Curiosity Lab presents a unique opportunity for the advancement of smart city technologies and intelligent mobility,” said Sebastian Liau, director for TUSA. “We look forward to creating new opportunities for Taiwanese companies to enhance their research and development practices using Curiosity Lab’s one-of-a-kind infrastructure.”

The 5G-enabled Curiosity Lab—powered by Sprint— with is equipped with a 25,000-square-foot tech incubator space. It has announced several strategic collaborations with leading companies, including a project to advance autonomous vehicle and infrastructure research in collaboration with Delta Air Lines and Georgia Tech.
The test track and smart city living laboratory opened in July, and Sprint announced its partnership with the lab in January 2019. The lab is also equipped with a network operations center, smart poles, DSRC units and dedicated fiber.
Taiwan is known in the tech space for its chip-making prowess, and U.S. companies have taken note, as several big names like Google, Microsoft, IBM, Intel and others have announced plan to invest in the country in the way of staffing and R&D.
