Vizio has revealed its Google TV range of 3D TVs, the R-Series, with the Internet Apps Plus service, Vizio’s custom spin on Google TV. The R-Series consists of the 42-inch R3D420VS, 47-inch R3D470VS, 55-inch R3D550VS and 65-inch R3D650VS.

Each R-Series TV runs at 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution with a 5.5ms response times. The 42-, 47- and 55-inch models have 240Hz refresh rates, while the 65-inch model has 120Hz.

The TVs also have edge-lit LED backlighting, four HDMI 1.4 inputs, one component/composite, one RF antenna, two USB and a PC input, along with optical and stereo audio outputs.

Vizio VAP430 Stream Player

Vizio also teamed up with Google on the Vizio VAP430 Stream Player (pictured, left), a set-top box that turns any HDTV into a smart TV with Google TV.

Using WiFi and HDMI, the VAP430 connects to the TV and opens Vizio’s Internet App Plus services using Google Chrome.

No pricing has been announced but the VAP430 media streamer.

CinemaWide Theater 3D TVs

Vizio also announced three CinemaWide Theater 3D TVs, the 50-inch XVT3D500CM, the 58-inch XVT3D580CM and the 71-inch XVT3D710CM.

Each set comes with an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio, which allows viewers to see each movie frame as the director intended. It also promises a more immersive 2D and 3D viewing experience.

All three models have Theater 3D, Vizio’s brand of passive 3D. This type of technology promises flicker-free, bright images, but also a more comfortable viewing experience. Similar to the ones you use at the theater, these glasses don’t need charging or batteries. Vizio says each of the new CinemaWide Theater 3D TVs will come with four pairs of Theater 3D glasses.

Another perk on all of the new sets is Vizio Internet Apps, which provide additional entertainment options, as well as side-by-side app viewing with full-size and full HD resolution 16:9 programming. That means you can watch TV and check news, Facebook or email, all simultaneously on the same screen.

The Yahoo! Connected TV store is making its debut as well, allowing users to access more than 180 free and paid TV apps, including Showtime, The Wall Street Journal, CBS, and others. V.I.A. also has instant, on-screen access to other apps, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, VUDU, Pandora, Flickr, and much more.

Each of the new CinemaWide HDTVs comes with a Bluetooth universal remote, which also includes an integrated QWERTY keypad for easy navigation.

The 50-inch XVT3D500CM and 58-inch XVT3D580CM have Vizio’s Edge Lit Razor LED backlight LCD with Smart Dimming technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. The 71-inch XVT3D710CM uses Vizio’s Full Array TruLED backlighting with Smart Dimming and a 240Hz SPS (Scenes per Second) refresh rate. All three models also have built-in Wi-Fi support and SRS Labs audio.

Vizio has not released pricing for the CinemaWide 3D TVs.
