SMART Technologies has announced a significant upgrade to its line of interactive whiteboard systems At the heart of the next-generation SMART Board interactive whiteboard system is the new ultra-short throw SMART U100w projector. The U100w offers a bright, high definition (HD) widescreen image, measured at 3,600 lumens in standard mode and a long-lasting lamp that provides up to 5,000 hours in standard mode and 6,500 hours in economy mode. The lamp life in economy mode represents an improvement of more than 100 percent compared to previous SMART UX80 projector models, reducing classroom downtime and maintenance costs.
Educators and administrators will find the U100w easier to use and maintain as it features easy boom adjustments with a new centralized dial system, onboard quality diagnostics and improved user alerts. With dual HDMI and USB connectivity, the U100w is also wireless-ready, providing customers with the option to connect a wireless media streaming device. And the updated design boasts a significantly reduced footprint – 67 percent smaller by volume than previous SMART UX80 projector models, as well as a front-facing 9 Watt speaker for clear audio throughout the classroom.
Available with the SMART Board SBX885 and the SBM685, this new projector enables an enriched interactive whiteboard experience that offers significant enhancements compared to previous systems, but at a reduced price. The U100w is backed by a standard three-year projector warranty with optional one- and two-year extensions available.
All systems come with SMART Notebook collaborative learning software. SMART Notebook allows educators to easily create engaging, interactive learning experiences while providing the flexibility to respond to the needs of learners in real-time.
