Sony is upping the ante with a new addition to its Pro Bravia displays, and the enhancement is so seamlessly integrated you’ll be hard pressed to even know that it’s there. That’s because the displays are now able to access digital signage applications via the cloud. Facilitating the link between display and the cloud is iRevo Digital Signage software which has been installed directly into the displays. This seamless integration with Bravia’s Android operating system eliminates the need for an external media player device.
Now, in addition to 4K resolution, HDR imagery, integrated support for HTML5 and open API support, Bravia Pro displays boast cloud capabilities and an abundance of digital signage templates, interactive touch support, rich customization and the ability to publish from anywhere.
“As cloud adoption increases in every industry, we sought a provider who could bring those same benefits, including security, reliability and ubiquitous accessibility, to our community of professional Bravia users,” says Mark Bonifacio, Sony’s Head of Education Segment. “The iRevo integration for Bravia further supports Sony’s fundamental values of providing our customers with customizable solutions that support their business needs, while streamlining their workflow and addressing their largest challenges. The addition of the iRevo enterprise solution expands and differentiates Sony’s digital signage offerings, ensuring we have scalable options that meet a variety of customer requirements.”
The iRevo Author and Manage cloud apps interact with the iRevo Android application which installs directly onto Bravia displays. These cloud apps run on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and support a comprehensive list of input sources and content types for enhanced functionality. The iDS offering supports photos with animations, videos, music, documents, websites, widgets, RSS Feeds and social media content, as well as content from sources that include network cameras, LAN services and live TV, making it easier to design, deploy and manage digital signage projects with ease and scale. Content, announcements and emergency messages can also be cast to Bravia displays via the iRevo iDS Cast mobile app for increased usability.
The iRevo software is regionally available for all 2016, 2017 and current FWD and FW professional BRAVIA models, with the exception of FWD-48W650D, through a paid software license that retails for $429.99 for a 1-year subscription or $1,529.99 for a 5-year subscription.
