CreateLED “Ebony” Technology
During InfoComm 2018, CreateLED showed off its “Ebony” technology, an enhancement to its line of high-brightness LED displays. Ebony is a working product and might not even be the final name of the new solution when it’s all said and done. It was far enough along to make an impact during InfoComm 2018. The ratio of the luminance of white to that of black defines contrast ratio that the screen can produce, writes CreateLED of the black substrate layer used instead of the usual mask which it says is better protection for LED lights. It minimizes the space between diodes making the surface of the modules almost completely black. It argues that Ebon layer coated panels produce superior contrast ratio of up to 10,000:1.
