Corporate Tech Decisions attended the Almo E4 event in Boston on October 3rd, and there was plenty to learn. The event included a number of manufacturers showcasing audiovisual equipment for integrators, end users, and press. Alongside these manufacturer booths, the E4 event placed a high premium on free education for those in attendance. A number of subjects were touched upon, taught by subject matter experts in several hour long sessions throughout the day.
One of the most informative sessions that I was able to attend was ‘Content Creation for Digital Signage,’ presented by Steve Rosenheim and sponsored by Almo ProAV. The session focused on educating those in attendance about the value-add that can be accrued by customers that have installed digital displays into their corporate lobby, or throughout their buildings, by including custom digital video content within their system.
As the digital signage market has had exponential growth over the past ten years, content creation has become a significant piece of the overall audiovisual spectrum. One of the things that Almo ProAV has done to help their customers, and the end users that their customers serve, to handle their content creation needs is introduce their content creation as a service program.
There are many types of media that can be displayed on digital signage. Live feeds from cameras, video from cable channels, social media updates, company information; virtually any information that can be displayed onscreen can be worked into digital video content feeds. Whether it be retail space, restaurants, gas stations, corporate offices, houses of worship, educational grounds, etc. The problem is that while the industry grows, the amount of content creation providers is not keeping up.
Integrators that partner with Almo ProAV can utilize the service in order to have custom content created for their customers. Most integrators don’t have dedicated personnel that focus on creating content. However, when audiovisual builds come along, many times the integrator is in need of custom content to sell along with the system. However, for integrators, hiring personnel specifically for custom content creation isn’t worth the cost. Almo ProAV has dedicated employees that work with integrators to create custom content for different builds and projects that the integrators work on. This way, end users get their custom content to display on their new audiovisual projects, and integrators have experienced personnel to create the content for them.
“If you want something dynamic that will pull in your audience, then you want something more that PowerPoint presentations,” says Rosenheim.
Audio is also a large part of digital signage content. Concerns come with this. The short loop feed of audio might be annoying, the audio might be too loud and distracting. Audio needs to work in tandem with video in order for digital signage content to work properly. This is where Almo ProAV can come in handy. They boast 4K and 6K cameras, 2 HD and 3D video editing suites, 7 adobe creative suite workstations, a stock library of 9000+ HD video clips and 4500+ 4K video clips, as well as 5000 square feet of stage for live action video production and 7000 square feet of green screen. With over 25 content creation experts on staff, Almo ProAV can create content for virtually any need.
Digital signage is a part of almost every corporate space in the country. The content behind these digital signage projects is important, and can make a difference in advertising, production, and sales. Almo ProAV experts not only understand graphic design, but the science and psychology behind creating this content. It’s worth asking your integrator who you will be getting your digital content from.
