The updated software will allow up to ten systems to connect in real time, and more.

Prysm, Inc. today announced that its Cascade collaboration video walls and displays are available with the new Synthesis 2.0 software. The latest version of Synthesis delivers real-time, multi-site mirroring of content, powerful and easy to use administrative tools, and lightning fast cloud-based services.

With Synthesis 2.0, users of up to ten Cascade video walls and displays can collaborate in real time. Every user can adjust the size, position, and settings of content. Annotations and notes are instantly shared across every mirrored system. Even browser actions like scrolling, clicking links, and interacting with multi-touch content are synchronized.

“The aspect ratio is very nicely translated between screens,” says Brandon Fischer, Vice President of Research and Development at Prysm, speaking of the differences between Cascade’s 190-, 85-, and 65-inch options. “When I’m in presentation mode on the 190, the other screens will automatically track and follow the interactivity on the wall. It’s actually sliding or panning back and forth depending on where the content is that I’m presenting on the wall. On the 190, we’re actually able to see where the focus is from the other screens.”

When presentation mode is not in use, any of the screens can interact with any piece of content in real-time. For instance, the 190 in Boston could have a whiteboard app on the left, being manipulated by an 85 in Denver, while a word document on the right is manipulated by a 65 in Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, the 190 can manipulate either, both, or a new piece of content somewhere else on the screen.

“Cascade systems with Synthesis 2.0 break through the barriers to collaboration faced by geographically separated teams,” says Dana Corey, Vice President of Global Sales at Prysm. “Mirroring represents an unprecedented capability that truly unleashes the creativity and productivity of work groups.”

Designed to scale to the needs of global enterprise customers, the new cloud architecture of Synthesis 2.0 provides lightning-fast performance worldwide. Built on a foundation of secure, standards-based protocols, it can integrate with any customers’ IT infrastructure. The Synthesis enterprise administration portal allows customers to manage and maintain user accounts and Synthesis deployments through a powerful, easy-to-use interface.

In addition to these new features, Synthesis 2.0 offers the same great performance that has garnered industry recognition of the award winning Cascade collaboration solutions. As simple to use as a tablet, Cascade systems put powerful collaboration capabilities at your fingertips. Users can capture, contribute and share content and ideas. Live streaming video, web apps, documents, presentations, images and inputs from PCs and mobile devices can be displayed, resized, positioned and annotated on screen. On screen controls let users make video conference calls, pan and zoom a camera, adjust volume, size and position dynamic keyboards, and play and pause videos. Configurable workspaces allow teams to save their work between sessions and pick up where they left off at their next meeting.

“The way [these features] are done today, outside of the capability we have, are through a control panel, where someone is going through an elaborate series of controls, configuring maybe a quadrant type format of sources,” says Fischer. “It’s very complex. We’ve made it extremely intuitive and easy and flexible.”
