Cisco is making it even easier to communicate anytime, anywhere, and without the need for a PC. The company just announced new Cisco Jabber and Cisco TelePresence features, two new offerings for the “post-PC era.”

Cisco says that both of its new systems make it easy for users to move from one collaboration solution to the next. For instance, a user can go from instant message to voice to video with the click of a button, making communication more convenient than ever.

Cisco just unveiled the TelePresence TX9000, an immersive three-screen room system. Promising high-quality video and content sharing, the TX9000 is designed to work with every collaboration endpoint in the Cisco portfolio, as well as all standard-based endpoint from other vendors. The TX9000 can support up to 1080p video at 60 frames per second (fps), with data sharing capabilities available for 1080p at 30 fps.

Other TX9000 features include the easy Cisco TelePresence Touch user interface, support for up to six users (expandable up to 18), and support for SIP, BFCP, H.264 and Telepresence Interoperability Protocol (TIP).

As part of the announcement, Cisco has also extended Cisco Jabber to iPad and Windows users. These latest additions allow users to pick their preferred operating system and incorporate high-def video, voice, instant messaging, desktop sharing, and much more. It’s truly extending the Jabber system, so that more users can keep in touch from anywhere around the world and across operating systems.

“With Cisco’s video solutions, disparate groups—anybody in the organization as well as truly anybody external—can interact with us face-to-face through TelePresence or using WebEx conference, allowing for more efficient communication and improved collaboration from any location,” says William Moore, executive VP and CTO of CareCore National. “Cisco Jabber gives the flexibility in the method of communication, starting with presence and IM, extending its reach to a higher level of communication via desktop sharing, conferencing, and TelePresence sessions. With these tools, we are able to provide an in-person experience internally as well as with customers and vendors, saving time and improving customer interaction.”

Cisco plans to start shipping the TX9000 in the second quarter of 2012, with a price starting at $299,000. For more info, check out the video demo below. Cisco Jabber for iPad and Jabber for Windows should be available around the same timeframe, and included as part of Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing.
