Survey Provides Insight into Teachers’ Out-of-Pocket Spending
SheerID and Agile Education Marketing released the results of their annual survey regarding K-12 teachers’ out-of-pocket spending habits. For the second year in a row it was found that teachers spent around $500 of their personal funds for school supplies, instructional materials, and professional development for the 2014/2015 school year. The survey also found that 94% of teachers are more likely to shop at stores that offer teacher discounts. Many teachers shop online and look for discounts through the internet, however they are not willing to provide personal information to obtain these discounts. SheerID’s verification technology instantly verifies teaching statuses online, in stores, or on a mobile device so teachers do not have to disclose personal information to redeem offers and discounts from companies.
