According to Garten, IT and security professionals now need to focus more on the software supply chain and cloud-native vectors as organizations continue an accelerated cloud migration. In addition, ransomware actors are becoming more sophisticated, and data exfiltration is now the standard.
Garten says vendors need to do a better job of releasing security products that are evolving along with threat actors rather than just “bolting onto older technologies” and relabeling them as new security solutions.
Likewise, enterprises need to do a better job of vetting security tools and keeping up with the market, Garten says.
