Camden Door Controls Lazerpoint RF Wireless Vestibule Switch Packages

Camden Door Controls on Ontario, Canada, introduces the Lazerpoint RF wireless packages of vestibule push plate switches to support the automatic door market with two new options.

The first option allows customers to easily add a wireless CM-2520 vestibule switch package to a newly purchased CM-RFL 4O, 45, 46 or 60 switch package, which will provide all the equipment needed for an installation, according to the company.

The second option allows customers to order a separate vestibule switch package, when they already have a CM-RFL40, 45, 46 or 60 Series kit.

The Lazerpoint RF provides exclusive 915Mhz. spread spectrum technology together with the widest range of wireless door activation devices in the industry, the company claims

Farpointe Pyramid P-900 Proximity Reader

Farpointe Data of Sunnyvale, Calif., releases the P-900 proximity reader that lets users easily access a variety of up to 20-inch (508 mm) read range applications, according to the company.

With the reader, users can deploy the company’s Pyramid Series proximity cards and tags, as well as support certain legacy HID and/or AWID 125-KHz proximity cards and tags.

The IP67-rated reader can be used outdoors or in dusty environments. Additionally, it is ETL listed to comply with the UL294 standard. It works in temperature extremes from -40°F to +149°F (-40°C to +65°) and is vandal resistant.

The P-900 mounts directly to a standard North American single gang/double gang wallbox, any flat surface such as a metal or plastic box, or parking bollard.

HID Mobile Access

The HID Mobile Access by HID Global of Irvine, Calif., merges security with convenience by enabling a smartphone and other mobile devices to securely open a door or gate.

Powered by HID Global’s Seos technology, the solution enables new iCLASS SE or multiCLASS SE readers to activate with a close range “tap” of a smartphone, or from a distance with the company’s patented “Twist and Go” mode. Active feedback including vibration and sound enhances the user experience when opening doors, according to the company. It leverages standard communications technologies to support both Android and iOS operating systems for a mobile solution.

The HID Secure Identity Services portal allows users to invite or revoke mobile IDs over the air. Secure identities are managed wirelessly through the phone.

Software House victor Unified SiteServer

Software House of Westford, Mass., a Tyco Security Products company, releases the victor Unified SiteServer from Software House provides a holistic approach to managing and monitoring security — all in one network appliance.

The network appliance leverages the power of the victor client to unify C*CURE 9000 access control, VideoEdge NVR software, and intrusion from a central database. From one intuitive interface, users have access to badging, dynamic mapping, advanced reporting, custom application layouts, video smart search, forensics, and everything else associated with C*CURE 9000 and VideoEdge NVR software.

The victor Unified SiteServer allows users to drill down to get the specific details of a C*CURE 9000 event and its associated video all in one interface, getting a more complete picture of the event that has occurred, according to the company.

Zwipe Access Biometric Cards

Zwipe of Naperville, Ill., has integrated its Zwipe Access biometric card with Irvine, Calif.-based HID Global’s iCLASS and 125kHz ProxCard.

The integration of Zwipe Access biometric cards with iCLASS and 125 kHz ProxCard readers allows organizations to extend the life of their existing infrastructure while simultaneously increasing its security, according to the companies.

Zwipe’s on-card fingerprint scanner with 3D capacitive technology resides on the contactless smart card that utilizes an embedded HID Global 13.56MHz iCLASS or 125kHz Proximity transponder. The Zwipe biometric card is also compatible with MIFARE Classic and DESFIRE EV1.

With Zwipe’s patented on-card authentication technology, only the authorized cardholder can activate card communication with the reader. Additionally, problems associated with PINs and passwords are eliminated through the use of Zwipe’s biometric authentication technology, the company claims.

We’re always looking for new ways to keep our office safe for employees, customers, and guests. Security is becoming increasingly important to facilities managers for a number of reasons, and many are feeling the pressure to ensure that their office can prevent and handle emergency situations. No one wants to be responsible for an incident that could have been avoided.

The first step is guarding the entrances to your office. We’ve come a long way since the simple lock and key system of security, and most offices have incorporated some sort of access control technology into their building. Systems range from relatively simple to very complex, but any system offers an added level of security over a key and lock.

Our friends at Security Sales & Integration recently compiled a list of five access control products for security integrators to suggest for their end user clients. We thought we would pass them along.
