Social Engineering Forum Hacked
Return To ArticleA forum dedicated to social engineering topics was breached about two weeks ago and data from tens of thousands of members leaked online on the very same day of the hack.
A post from the owner of SocialEngineered.net announced on Thursday that the forum had been breached via a vulnerability in the MyBB forum software.
The last major MyBB vulnerability was disclosed publicly on June 11 along with the technical details. Successful exploitation of the bug – a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) and file write, leads to remote code execution and complete takeover of the target site.
