Over $1 Million Stolen in Cryptocurrency Exchange Hack
Bithumb, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, has lost more than $1 Million in cryptocurrencies after being hacked this week. A number of user accounts were compromised, and cryptocurrency of bitcoin and Ethereum were stolen.
Over one hundred investor accounts had won (worth of cryptocurrency) stolen from their accounts. Hackers also stole personal information of 31,800 Bithumb website users, which include names, email, and phone numbers.
Bithumb currently believes that an employee’s home computer was hacked, not its network. South Korean officials are now investigating.
