Computer Resources LLC, developer of the MMS Student Information Platform for K-12 schools, was awarded Massachusetts certification for the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) version 2.7. MMS is one of the first software platforms to achieve this standard of efficiency. School districts in Massachusetts may select Computer Resources as their student information system (SIS) software provider with the assurance that it meets the standards set by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education and Schools Interoperability Framework Association (SIFA).

“Computer Resources’ exemplary commitment to the Commonwealth’s SIF initiative is only surpassed by their superior product delivery and support for the MMS Student Information Platform, one of Massachusetts’ top-rated SIS,” says William A. Holscher, Commonwealth SIF Program Manager and Chief Architect Executive Office of Education.

Massachusetts relies on the SIF Association’s specifications for student data because it is both comprehensive in scope, and allows for cross checks to ensure accuracy. With accurate data, the Commonwealth is able to support Massachusetts districts in a number of ways, including making sure each district receives all the funding it is entitled to, and that each district has access to quality, free, teaching and learning resources.

With its focus on data quality, Massachusetts sets very high standards for its Certified Student Information Systems, and for its school districts.  MMS focuses on making it as easy as possible for districts to collect, manage, and report on accurate data, so that educators can focus on serving their communities and students.

“The department of education has really ambitious plans to build systems to support teaching and learning in Massachusetts. That means there are constantly evolving demands on districts, and their student information system, to provide more and more complex data to the state to support those plans,” says Dr. Steven Hiersche, Superintendent of Beverly Public Schools, “While this can be really demanding, MMS has done a great job keeping that process as smooth as possible, while providing the local data we need to enhance teaching and learning in Beverly.”
