7 Technologies You Need for the Fourth of July

We're not all about business here at TechDecisions. Sometimes technology can be used to kick back, relax, and enjoy a holiday weekend.

Coolest Cooler

When you’re at the beach, it’s an absolute necessity to have a cooler for food a drinks. Fourth of July might be on a Monday, but you’ll worry about the hangover tomorrow, and the Coolest Cooler will ensure it’s one of the strongest hangovers you’ve ever had. An ice-crushing blender powered by 20V rechargeable Lithium ion battery is good for 16-24 pitchers of cocktails. A removable outdoor Bluetooth speaker lets you listen to tunes while you celebrate. A waterproof USB charger means you’ll be Snapchatting and Instagramming all night. An LED Light on the lid helps you find your beverage, and a built-in bottle opener helps you get to it without hurting yourself. The 55 Quart Coolest Cooler can support over 600 pounds and has extra thick insulation for up to five days of ice retention.

Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett Portable Pellet Grill

Whether you’re cooking in the backyard or bringing the grill to the beach with you, the Fourth of July is all about grilling up food. Hot dogs, burgers, steak tips, pork loin, sweet, sweet Italian sausages… you’ve been dieting for a month to get beach ready and now you get to throw it all away. You love the food, but you also love to party, and you don’t want to be stuck around the grill all day. The Davy Crockett Portable Pellet Grill will help. WiFi capability allows you to control and monitor all grill functions with your smart phone, so you can make sure you’re keeping things medium-rare while you dip your toes in the water or toss the football around. Simply download the Green Mountain Grills app and you can check for system malfunctions and low fuel warnings, turn your grill on and off, monitor the internal meat temperature, control the cooking temperature and timer, and store the time and temperature profiles of your favorite recipes.

Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Nothing says Fourth of July like some killer tunes rocking all day and night. You might be into Classic Rock and playing Born in the USA. You might like country music, playing Chicken Fried on repeat for hours at a time. You might like hip hop and vibe out to some old school Jay-Z. You might have no taste and want to listen to Future and Rick Ross all day. If you’re at a BBQ or kicking it at the beach, you’ve got to bring the beats with you. A Bluetooth speaker lets you listen to music, enjoy the day, and keep the sound coming from your own smartphone so no one can mess with the music.

Electronic Scoreboard

At its heart, the Fourth of July is about competition. We whooped up on England in the Revolutionary War, ultimately gaining us independence. In the spirit of that, we play lawn games from Can Jam to Spikeball to Bag Toss so that we can establish our own dominance and independence from out loser friends and family members. With all of the commotion, food breaks, and alcohol flowing throughout the festivities, often scores get contested, tempers rise, and relationships are irrevocably broken. Unless you have a portable, electronic scoreboard to keep track of which team is winning. Numbers never lie, and neither will the scoreboard.

Fire Pit

Pop quiz: what’s the oldest and most important technology in human history? Fire. Fire was invented by the cavemen and so far has yet to be improved upon. You cook with it, you light fuses for fireworks with it, you light your stogies with it… Fourth of July would be nothing without fire. Sure, lighters, lanterns, and even fire pits have changed the way we contain fire, but fire itself has largely gone unchallenged throughout its illustrious career. Instead of sitting around watching Netflix, do what the cavemen did and sit around a fire and stare into the flames for entertainment. You might have central air, but nothing keeps you warm like being engulfed in the smoke coming from burning wood in a fire pit.

LED Products

The Fourth of July is about flash. It’s about pomp. It’s about blowing things up. But before we can start with the fireworks, we need to pregame a little to get in the mood. LED has been making big strides in the digital signage game, but long before that LEDs were the light source of choice for a number of Fourth of July products. Red, white and blue flashing light flags, glasses, swords, hats, shirts, bows… you name it and it’s been stuffed full of LEDs for the Fourth of July. Stock up, hand them out, and by the time the fireworks are ready to go off your pupils will be dilated to the perfect measurements.

VR Headset

Hate the outdoors? Don’t have any friends? Hate people? You don’t have to miss the fireworks celebration. Buy yourself a VR headset, grab yourself a beer, and enjoy the fireworks from the comfort of your own couch.

Technology comes in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and solves all kinds of problems.

Of course, collaboration, communication, presentation, security… these are all extremely important to businesses and schools. What else is important to businesses and schools? Vacation.
