Zoom is launching an all-in-one events solution for virtual experience called Zoom Events, adding onto the previously released events platform and marketplace OnZoom.
In a Wednesday blog, the company said Zoom Events will launch later this summer, with OnZoom to be folded into the new comprehensive solution and serve as a directory of events that can be searched and explored.
Zoom is marketing Zoom Events to businesses of all sizes, and enables users to create, host and manage these virtual experiences.
According to Zoom, businesses will be able to create a hub where all of their events will be listed with corresponding information about each experience, and hosts can create multi-session events where attendees can network in a virtual lobby.
Larger businesses will be able to manage and host internal events like all-hands meetings and sales summits, or external events like conferences or consumer events.
And, event hosts will also be able to provide ticketing and registration for attendees.
Companies can also group internal events together and make them discoverable for employees.
Once launched, Zoom Events will take the place of OnZoom and continue to allow individuals to host events and charge for tickets.
In a press release, Zoom cited a global study about the virtual future, and 80% agreed that everything will have a virtual element past the pandemic, and 52% of U.S. respondents said they plan to enjoy events both in person and virtually.
“It’s an exciting time to be at Zoom where the pace of innovation continues to accelerate,” said Oded Gal, chief product officer at Zoom. “We know that people are looking for flexibility in how they attend events in the future. The hybrid model is here to stay, and Zoom Events is a perfect solution for our customers who are looking to produce and host customer, company, and public events with an easy, yet powerful solution. This is another way we’re helping customers scale to meet consumer demands and the evolving virtual and hybrid landscape.”
