Dell Videoconferencing Monitors

Dell plans to introduce next month a new line of monitors that it says are the world’s first video conferencing monitors certified for Microsoft Teams.

The company appears to be betting on our lingering need for remote and hybrid work and videoconferencing solutions by developing computer monitors designed for video calls with quality audio and video devices built in.

The trio of monitors each come with a dedicated Microsoft Teams button with a 5-megapixel IR camera, dual 5W speakers and a built-in noise cancelling microphone. The Teams button allows users to instantly join meetings with one touch.

With remote work and the lingering COVID-19 pandemic in mind, Microsoft is also introducing a secure and convenient login experience via facial recognition sign-in via Windows Hello and hands-free commands with Cortana, the company’s virtual assistant.

The monitors also come with ComfortView Plus, a built-in low blue light solution that reduces blue light emissions to deliver better color accuracy.

Microsoft last year began certifying videoconferencing devices like displays, webcams and headsets last year, but this is the first monitor to be certified for Teams.

The monitors will be available starting Feb. 16 and come in three different sizes: 24 inches, 27 inches and a curved 34 inches, with respective prices at $519.99, $719.99 and $1,149.99.
