Salesforce has unveiled new developer tools intended to make it easier for programmers to build applications on top of Commerce Cloud.
Highlighting the new features are new “headless” commerce experiences, a new Commerce Cloud Development Center, the Einstein AI Dashboard and Salesforce Order Management extensions.
The company first announced the new offerings at the National Retail Federation’s NRF 2020 over the weekend.
In a blog post, the company said the new features will help companies next holiday season and beyond.
“In short, we’re helping customers build premium commerce experiences with enhanced scale, flexibility and speed,” the company said.
Headless commerce experiences
According to Salesforce, the company is bringing new and enhanced commerce APIs for faster development of commerce apps and experiences to reach consumers at any touchpoint.
The company is also introducing the MuleSoft Accelerator for Commerce Cloud that offers pre-built integration templates to jumpstart commerce integrations and speed up projects.
Commerce Cloud Development Center
To foster agility and speed when building headless commerce applications, the company is introducing the Commerce Cloud Development Center to serve as a new API community to discover, share and build those experiences.

A new developer toolkit and sample apps will give IT teams SDK and guidelines to easily build and extend personalized commerce apps, and headless commerce solution kits will offer clear instructions and best practices on building those experiences.
Commerce cloud Einstein AI Dashboard
Commerce Cloud already gives eCommerce teams the capability to make intelligent, informed business decisions via insight and performance metrics. With Einstein AI Dashboard, the company will now provide you with real-time metrics to give merchandisers the actionable information they need to measure success and improve pages to maximize revenue.
Salesforce Order Management extending into the store
The new feature helps bridge the physical and digital channel by giving companies a unified in-store and online experience with mobile point-of-sale partners Mad Mobile, NewStore and PredictSpring.
