Enterprises looking for a hardware security key to distribute to employees at scale can now solve that problem with YubiEnterprise Services from YubiKey.
The security key manufacturer earlier this month announced the new service aimed at making large-scale purchase of security keys simple and efficient.
The offering comes the same month as the company released a new report in conjunction with the Ponemon Institute that found end users aren’t getting any better at securing their online credentials despite an increase in phishing attacks.
Chief Product Officer Guido Appenzeller in a blog post said the new services allow companies to erase the logistical, budgetary or planning issues in implementing YubiKey authorization across the enterprise.
According to Appenzeller, the services include YubiEnterprise Subscrition and YubiEnterprise Delivery. U.S. and Canada customers will be first in the second quarter, with a phased rollout to Europe on the way.
Subscribers to YubiEnterprise can opt for a three-year or one-year license on a per-use basis with a minimum purchase for at least 750 users. YubiKey options are grouped into tiers, giving customers the flexibility to choose security keys at fulfillment.
The subscription is also aimed at helping IT departments manage spending, as pricing is based on individual users rather than hardware. Customers can also upgrade to new models and form factors to suit their growing needs.
End users can request single and bulk shipments of YubiKeys directly, and the company maintains the customers’ inventory and shipping information, automatically calculates shipping costs, and provides tracking information.
With a self-service administrator console and user interface, customers can see their inventory, access shipping status and generate reports. It can be integrated direcntly into existing IT software via public APIs.
Customers interested can apply early on the company’s website.
