As the costs of doing business rise, enterprises are always looking for ways to cut costs, which can also result in bettering the environment and some good PR.
Two companies, E Ink and LivingPackets unveiled THE BOX (yes, all caps), a sustainable, reusable packaging solution for both businesses and consumers.
It contains no wood fibers and the interior is reconfigurable so there’s no need for bubble wrap or other packing material. It uses and E Ink display instead of a printed address label, making it easier to update address data at any time.
This can help businesses not only save on costs from using cardboard boxes and printing labels, but also help save the environment from packing materials ending up in landfills.
In the same vein of saving money whilst protecting the environment, Hydraloop Systems BV introduced the Hydraloop, a water recycling system that cleans and disinfects shower, bath and washing machine graywater to be used for flushing, gardening, pool water or back to the washing machine. An app allows users to see priorities, see the status of the recycling process and get updates on their usage and savings.
According to the company, it can help users reduce water and sewer usage by 45 percent.
It’s being marketed as a residential device, but businesses with high water and sewer costs would be interested in the Hydraloop.
